Michael Sorenson
CEO & Founder
Before founding Sorenson Companies, I spent a good majority of my high school summers working in my hometown of Madelia, Minnesota next to my brother mowing lawns, building retaining walls, paver patios, and any other landscape projects we could get our hands on. I spent my winters doing residential and commercial snow removal when I wasn’t in school or playing sports.
At the age of 25, I have been fortunate enough to have many leaders in multiple industries grab ahold of my vision and run with it. Over the last couple of years, I have taken a step back from the day-to-day operations to see the bigger picture of the company. I am lucky to have such a great team implementing my many ideas and bringing them to life. We are excited to see what the future holds for us as a company!

Born into a military family, the sense of working hard and striving towards your goals was instilled in me at a young age, I moved to my parent’s small hometown of Madelia, MN where I met Mike Sorenson. Together we played a variety of sport until our high school graduation. I left Madelia to attend Hamline University, where I achieved two separate business degrees and two separate business minors, all while playing football for the university.
After graduation, I accepted a position where I developed my management and business operations skills. Then my path crossed with Mike and I joined the Sorenson Tree Service company. Here I had the opportunity to use my military, sports and management backgrounds to assist in the building of this company.
Mitch Bauer
I.S.A Consulting Arborist
Beginning my career as a grounds man, I worked my way up to climbing and cutting trees. The hard work paid off as I was able to pursue and achieve by I.S.A certified arborist certification. During this time, I also furthered my education by obtaining certifications on plant health care, my pesticides applicator license, certified tree care safety professional (CTSP) license, as well as attended Davey Institute of Tree Service Science in Kent, Ohio.
In 2019, I joined the Sorenson Tree Service team, which has allowed my to excel as a consulting arborist. I absolutely love this industry and am excited to assist in the development of our team, the company and the opportunity to be outside while helping keep our neighbors homes and businesses safe and looking good!
Kim Kluender
Office Administrator
With over 20 years of customer service experience and office management, I genuinely care about our customers and team. I strive to deliver excellent customer service and ensure our customers get the care and attention they deserve. My experience also includes three years of specialized tree service operations and customer management.
My family and I are true Minnesotans, balancing the constant back and forth of my two son’s hockey season with cabin life in the summer months. I am excited to continue managing the ever growing Sorenson operations and continuing to provide solutions to both our tree service and concrete division customers!
